Me and Jaimie took a road trip from Greensboro to Warren County, where she was from. During the trip I saw her transform from urban college girl to rural downhome good ol' girl. But she wasn't barefoot for lack of shoes. In our pursuit of beautiful shots from her abandoned childhood home, we managed to get covered with seed ticks, baby ticks about the size of the head of a pin. Her grandmother was hospitalized that day as well, so we visited the poor woman, taking turns to pick the parasites off our bodies in her private bathroom. We spent the rest of the day barefoot.
