Lady
Liberty
Lady Liberty stood in front of Liberty Tax Service across the street
from my apartment in Greensboro. Different folks wearing the
statue of liberty garb would stand on Spring Garden Street waving at
cars, trying to drum up business for the income tax people. Many
a car would honk as they passed my apartment. Of course, when I
took this picture, I had not yet moved into that apartment. By
the time I did, Lady Liberty was gone, replaced by all manner of
jubilant African-American males.
